Fox's Nest (1997)

146 cm W x 126 cm H (57.3" W x 49.5" H)

About the design: Carpet of forest leaves seen from underneath; vectorial design.

The yarns: Made for a good friend of mine, this project was done at a time when there were no stained glass suppliers or other stained glass artists in the region. Thus, I designed an extrusion die and got a few hundred meters of my first lead cames.

Execution: Lead cames; oven cured paint.

Installation: In a skylight with wooden framing — a frustum of a pyramid.

Light play: Although the glazed rooflight above is small, daylight brightens the stained glass panels charmingly. Middays of summer offer the best view of natural light; the second best option is attic lighting.
